Normal high-quality bearings (rolling bearings) have relatively low vibration and noise at the beginning of use, but the spectrum is somewhat scattered and the amplitude is relatively small, possibly due to some shortcomings in the manufacturing process, such as external burrs.


After a period of movement, vibration and noise remain at a certain level, with a very single spectrum, only one or two times. There is rarely more than three times the power frequency spectrum, and the bearing status is very stable, entering a stable operation period.


After continuous operation and entering the later stage of use, the vibration and noise of rolling bearings begin to increase, and sometimes abnormal noise occurs, but the increase in vibration changes slowly. At this time, the cliff value of the bearing suddenly reaches a certain value. We believe that at this time, the rolling bearing exhibits initial failure.

The operation is simple and easy to learn, without the need for special equipment and special movements. Field correction also reduces the repair time and transportation costs of the equipment.


At this time, it is required to closely monitor the rolling bearing and pay close attention to its changes. After that, the cliff value of the bearing begins to rapidly decrease, approaching the normal value, and the vibration and noise begin to significantly increase, with the fluctuation beginning to accelerate. When the vibration exceeds the vibration specifications (ISO2372 specifications, etc.), the cliff value of the bearing also begins to rapidly increase. When the vibration specifications are exceeded, the cliff value also exceeds the normal value (cliff degree is relatively standard)


Rolling bearings exhibit late failures and severe failures (typically bearing damage, such as shaft holding, burns, sand frame cracking, raceway, bead wear, etc.) for less than one week. The larger the equipment capacity, the faster the rotational speed, and the shorter the interval. Therefore, in the actual diagnosis of rolling bearing faults, once the characteristics of late faults are found, it is necessary to decisively determine whether the bearing has faults and quickly organize maintenance.
