Different structural bearings and different working conditions require different seal ring structures and materials, so their research and development workload is very large. The current sealing technology is relatively mature. From a single sealing lip to multiple sealing lips, from contact sealing to non-contact sealing; From product types, ball bearings, ball bearings. With the international development trend, China has also developed deep groove ball bearings, water pump bearings, railway (tapered roller) bearings, needle roller bearings, and short cylindrical roller bearings.

According to the quality test results of sealed bearings issued by the National Bureau of Technology, there are major problems in the structural design of sealed bearings in China, such as poor sealing effect, serious fat leakage, and strong user feedback. After analysis, the main reason is that the current seal ring design structure in China is unreasonable, the inner ring is not a sealing groove, and the manufacturing accuracy is not high. Therefore, the future development trend of bearing sealing technology in China is: represented by deep groove ball bearings, conducting sealing technology experiments, searching for seal ring structures and seal life, researching sealing materials, searching for wear-resistant, aging resistant, high temperature resistant, and corrosion resistant materials, improving contact seal life, and developing seal rings under high temperatures or harmful atmospheres.

According to the current situation of poor quality of sealed bearings in China, the main research content in the future is: first, research and experiment, select the sealing ring structure of deep groove ball bearings, develop corresponding inner ring sealing groove structure of bearings, and replace the current sealing structure of deep groove ball bearings. In 2005, efforts were made to make the sealing performance of bearings catch up with the advanced level of similar international products in the late 1990s; Secondly, in combination with the development of China's automotive industry, develop high-temperature sealed bearings suitable for long-term operation at 120-180 ℃; The third is a new sealing structure represented by railway vehicle bearings.
