How to install the bearings correctly? What is the difference between a set sleeve and a release sleeve?
The locking sleeve is one of the commonly used bearing accessories and is the most commonly used component for positioning bearings with tapered holes on cylindrical shafts, as this sleeve can be used for optical or stepped shafts. Maybe many people don't know much about tightening sleeves. Let me tell you how to install the bearing correctly. What is the difference between the tightening sleeve and the withdrawing sleeve?
How to install the bearings correctly:
(1) Preparation before installation.
Before installation, carefully clean the mounting surfaces of the fastening sleeve and the withdrawal sleeve, without sharp corners and burrs. If any protruding parts are found, they should be promptly polished with professional sandpaper to avoid mutual wear between the bearings and shafts, which may affect assembly accuracy. All friction surfaces passing through the shaft should be coated with grease.
After the fastening and demounting sleeves are completed and meet the standards, the inner and outer diameters of the axial openings are floating dimensions under the influence of material gravity and a small amount of material stress. Sometimes the floating size of the inner diameter is larger than the standard size, which does not affect assembly. However, when the floating size is smaller than the standard size, a support block should be placed at the opening to control the inner hole size to be larger than the standard size before assembly. When the set and release sleeves are initially installed in a predetermined position, the support blocks at the openings must be removed before proceeding with the locking assembly.
Note: Select a suitable tightening sleeve according to the bearing. There are many types of tight sets available on the market, with different models, brands, and prices. If it is necessary to replace the adapter sleeve, it must be selected based on the model, size, and brand of the bearing. The tightening sleeve purchased in this way is suitable, and there will be no problems with wear and mutual adhesion of the tightening sleeve. For detailed parameters of tightening the spacer, please consult Luoyang Bairunsi Bearing.
(2) Installation steps.
1. Lubricate the inner diameter, outer diameter, thread, and large end face of the retaining sleeve.
2. The locking sleeve or withdrawal sleeve is assembled with the bearing, and initially locked with a lock nut or hydraulic nut. At the same time, use a manual pump to inject high-pressure oil into the end face (one oil hole in the tightening sleeve and two oil holes in the unloading sleeve).
3. Lock with a lock nut to adjust the bearing clearance. After adjusting the clearance, directly lock or install the bearing with a hydraulic nut. Remove the hydraulic nut and lock it with a lock nut.
(3) Disassembly procedure.
1. When loading and unloading the fastening sleeve and withdrawal sleeve, apply grease to the threads of the fastening sleeve and withdrawal sleeve. Remove the nut and apply grease to the contact face of the bearing.
2. Use a hand pump to inject high-pressure oil into the oil holes on the end faces of the set and release sleeves. Under the action of high-pressure oil, rotate the disassembly nut or hydraulic nut to pressurize, so that the set and release sleeves can be withdrawn. (Removing the set sleeve requires installing a threaded mounting nut at the shaft end as a fixing point.)
What is the difference between a fastening sleeve and a release sleeve:
The tightening sleeve and the withdrawal sleeve are generally suitable for large bearings. The tightening set is used to tighten the round nut and tighten the bearing, while the withdrawal set is the opposite.
The original intention of tightening the fixed sleeve and removing the sleeve is to facilitate the installation and disassembly of bearings, improve efficiency, and reduce mechanical maintenance costs. Generally speaking, the fastening sleeve is for ease of installation, and the removal sleeve is for ease of disassembly. The effect of adjusting the internal clearance can be achieved by using the fastening sleeve and the withdrawal sleeve. The locking sleeve is convenient for adjusting the axial positioning of the bearing and has good self-locking performance. The use of optical shafts avoids the stress concentration phenomenon of stepped shafts, which is conducive to heavy load transmission or shock vibration.
Although this type of bearing device has a simple structure, it can only achieve satisfactory results under the premise of correct installation and maintenance. Otherwise, haste leads to lack of speed, even counterproductive.
