The selection of split bearing pedestals is related to their material, structure, and size. Small holes are generally cast using steel molds, or solid castings are generally used. Sand molds are generally used for casting; Large holes are generally cast using steel molds; Mass production can improve productivity and save materials.

The main materials used to manufacture split bearing blocks are cast steel (such as ZG45), gray cast iron (such as HT200), ductile iron (such as QT400-17), or stainless steel. Cast steel is mainly used for rolling mill bearing blocks.

Like bearings, section bearing pedestals should also be regularly maintained in order to identify and resolve problems as soon as possible and improve economic efficiency.
